What to do in Lugano
Lugano Walks
The walking holidays of Switzerland are appreciated immensely by visiting tourists, one such walk takes you to Ticino which is popular for it's sparkling blue lakes and lush Chestnut forests, Ticino also has the most hours of sunshine in Switzerland. The walk sets off from Tesserete and ends in Bidogno, once there you can make your way up to Monte Bar which offers some of the best views in the region. Walking along the high level way will lead you to the village of Colla or Bogna, Cimadera is the next spot from where you reach the Denti della Vecchia hill.
Lugano Golf
If you enjoy playing golf then a visit to the Lugano Golf Club which is only a few kilometres from Agno Airport, the golf club is located on level ground and displays the best possible views with it's splendid birch woods, oaks, pines, rhododendrons and azaleas, golf is enjoyed by many golfers despite the difficulty of this challenging course. The steady presence of water blockages and narrow fairways makes the course fairly challenging, as your playing your round of golf you should cross the Magliasina River almost 8 times, the course with it's shapes and designs demands you to resort to play a more powerful game with greater accuracy.
Lugano Camping
The Monte Generoso campsite is on the shore of Lake Lugano and is fairly close to the small town of Melano, the campsite is quite near to the base of Monte Generoso, thus easily offering the mountain along with it's activities for the campsites visitors and the peak of Monte Generoso promises a few stunning sights and also gives you views of Ticino and Lombardy. The location of the campsite offers activities like hiking and mountain biking which can be enjoyed along the peak of the mountain doles where there are plenty of walking trails along with a steep 30km mountain bike track, while camping at the Monte Generoso campsite you can also enjoy the facilities of a fine restaurant, educational trails and a wonderful observatory.
Lugano Skiing
Lugano attracts people from around the globe for it's natural delights that present a fine mix of village and city, the town features among the holiday region in Switzerland and lives up to it's fame by offering plenty of leisure activities for it's guests, skiing is certainly one of them. Lugano is a fine spot for skiing with it's hilly areas, Skiing is best experienced on Mt. Lema which is just at few minutes drive from Lugano, Ticino also has fine skiing areas which are either in San Bernardino or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass), both ski areas can be reached in an hour by car, Andermatt is also a fine place for skiing.
Lugano Tennis
Tennis features among the foremost leisure and sports activities in the beautiful town of Lugano as the town hosts an ATP Challenger Event, tourists can enjoy playing tennis at various venues as there are a good number of Tennis courts available, some of them even allow free access to guests and locals, most of the big hotels in the town also have their own tennis courts and let their guests use the courts and other facilities.
